About WHO App Live
WHO App Live is a random video call service, available at whoapplive.com in the browser and as our app on Google Play. The idea fits on a single button. You press start, your camera comes on, and one new person is on the other side of the call.
We built WHO around the first meeting rather than the friend list. There is no profile to fill in before you start and no request to wait on before you talk. When a call ends, the next person is a tap away.

How a live video call on WHO works
A live video call on WHO takes three steps, and none of them asks you to fill in a form or create an account.

We start looking for a person who is available to talk right now. Nothing needs setting up first.

Before the call opens, your browser asks for camera permission. You can change that choice later in your browser settings.

Talk, or move on with Next
Keep talking for as long as it is going well. When you are ready for someone else, Next brings them in without reloading the page.

Random video calls, one person at a time
Each call on WHO is a 1v1 video call: two people, two cameras. Nobody watches from the side and nobody else can drop in. We keep the format that simple on purpose, because a conversation between two people goes better when neither of them is performing for a room.

Matching is random by default. When you press start, you do not pick anyone; you meet whoever comes next. That is what sets a random video call apart from a dating app or a group room: each call begins as a first meeting, and you decide in the first few seconds whether to stay or move on.

Free video calls, with optional extras
Starting a video call on WHO App Live costs nothing, and neither does random matching. You can take one random video call after another without paying for a match.
Some extras are paid with coins, and every one of them is optional. A good conversation needs none of them, and the free route does not run out after a trial period. Our free video call page breaks down exactly what stays free.

Our moderation team reviews the session and decides
Automated filters check every video chat and flag what they can catch, and every report is reviewed by our moderation team. Permanent suspension is reserved for three things: harassing anyone on a call, abuse aimed at who a person is, and being underage. For the last one, you confirm your age before your first video chat.
Our Terms of Use also rule out hateful, threatening and abusive content. You never owe anyone an explanation for pressing Next. When a call does not feel right, end it and move on.
Your privacy on a WHO video call
Before a first call, most people want to know two things: who can see them, and what we keep. Here are the plain answers.
Your video calls are not recorded. That does not mean we store nothing: the details you give us when you sign up, usage data such as your matches and how long they last, and anything you send in the app can be kept, as our Privacy Policy describes.
What happens on the other person's screen is outside our control, so keep your address, workplace and social accounts to yourself. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to contact@whoapplive.com, and we will work to remove your data from our servers.

WHO needs no download. The video call starts in the browser you already have, and the app is there if you would rather install one.

WHO works as an online video call service in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer. The camera prompt and the controls are the same on every screen. Pin WHO to your home screen and it launches like an installed app.

Our Android app is on Google Play for anyone who prefers an installed video call app to a browser tab.
On iPhone
Apple's App Store has no WHO app. Open whoapplive.com in Safari and add it to your home screen; from then on it opens from an icon, just like an app.

Is WHO App Live the same as WHO Live?
Yes. Whether people call it WHO Live, the WHO app or WHO App Live, it is one service, at whoapplive.com and on Google Play.
Do I need a login for the WHO app?
Not to start a call. The login is there for one feature, browsing who is online before you call. Everything else, from your first video call to the Next button, works without it.
Is there a WHO app download?
Only if you want one. Android users can install our app from Google Play; everyone else, iPhone users included, starts in the browser with nothing to install.
Does WHO work on a computer?
Yes. Open whoapplive.com in a current browser on a laptop or desktop, allow your camera when asked, and press start.
How do I report someone during a call?
Press Report while the call is open. The match ends straight away and the session goes to our moderation team, who look at it and decide what happens next. Block is the other option, for when you simply never want to be matched with that person again.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Random matching is free and no payment details are asked for on the way in. If you later buy coins for an optional extra, your card details go directly to our payment provider; we do not process or store them.
What languages is WHO App Live available in?
Nine in all: Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
